Fur returns as popular material for winter in vests and outerwear in Europe. Shorthaired, quasi-faux looking furs are emerging. Cropped coats and long waisted vests inspired by the 70’s-era looks were seen around Paris. Persian lambs recall vintage versions of the 30’sand40’s are in trend. Whether you decide to go real or fake is entirely up to you. Just make sure it’s glamorous and gorgeous either way. If you go real my three fan furs are sable, mink broadtail, and Orylag. The Italians collect their furs like the French collect their scarves, and Americans collect their jeans. Fur goes with everything. It adds the glam factor to jeans, evening gowns, and dresses. There is nothing that fur does not play well with. The best places to find an exquisite expensive fur are J.Mendel, Fendi, Dennis Basso and vintage shops. It can be hard matching a stylist coat with an evening dress without looking like a dry queen tranny. But a day coat looks horrifying with eveningwear and no coat at all look silly when it’s freezing outside. A lady should always own a coat that always adds Hollywood glamour to an evening dress, and will make you look finished. Most of us probably do not have endless funds like the Hiltons and preferably go faux. The biggest mistake when going faux is to try to buy furs that look like the real thing. In 2007 Prada created a faux fur collection. The collection did not try to make their furs imitate the real thing. Instead Prada gave life and beauty all their own, dieying them in shocking orange or creating huge, white, impossibly puffy coats. It is so clear that they are fake, which makes them chic.
The mini skirts is a favorite in slim and skater silhouettes. Digital photo prints and bold Jacquard patterns move this key item forward. Straight shapes that fit at the natural waist and mid-thigh length is still as fashionable as ever. Paired with tailored jackets, this once-risqué separate looks fresh and professional. SHOP THE LOOKEven though the YSL Arty Ring has been in a trend for awhile now, I still love it. This statement-making ring has been spotted in the streets and celebrities. Its available in a range of colors, including turquoise, magenta, and black all wrapped in gold or silver metal. Every season new colors are featured. Last year I purchased the red stone now I wish I've purchased the turquoise or black stone. Which color is your favorite? SHOP THE LOOKUse nudes and vintage pastels to heighten romantic layers. Create a modern feel by contrasting details such as scallop-finish tiers, ditzy floral appliqué, girly bows and sheer pleating with sharp tailored outerwear. I personally love nudes and pastels, its very feminine and elegant color. I really love the ASOS pencil dress with the peplum, I just purchased it. I wanted to purchase it awhile back but it was out of stock, luckily its back in stock. The herve dress is also just beautiful but very expensive. SHOP THE LOOKReligious icons is a popular influence for costume jewelry. Baroque-influenced or early 90s vintage crucifix is a favorite. The trend for wearing multiple colorful bracelets up the arm gains momentum. Incorporating friendship bands with luxury beaded and chain styles creates a fresh eclectic look.
