From preppy and high to low-slung and cool, the ponytail is the only way to wear your hair this season. Twist the hair around the base of the ponytail for an elegant texture contrast. In Gustavo Lins the ponytail was super loosely braided. The Ponytail can be placed at the crown or low at the nape. In Burberry the ponytail was low-slung. Simply scoop back your hair at the nape of your neck and tie with an elastic. Celine's models walked the runway with a easy-breezy side-parted low ponytail. This can be simply done in two minutes in morning.
Its all about eyes. Luxe Blue stands out. At Jason Wu, makeup artist Diane Kendal evoked "warriors" with a wash of army green pigment, and Charlotte Tilbury created "Avatar-ish" eyes for Prabal Gurung using slashes of teal and electric blue eye pencils and eyeshadow. The coffee eyeshadow is a versatile color that works across seasons. It complements all skin tones and transitions easily from day to night. Spotted on S/S 12 and F/W 12 runways from Brazil to New York, the brown shadow is perfect for creating contoured, smoky or natural eyes. Eyeliner goes graphic this season as makeup artists eschewed the cat-eye in favor of experimental calligraphy. Altuzrra showed "grungy, punk, couture," with double winged liner. Diffused square edges softened the look. Dark, glamorous is a major look this season with its deep lip color and heavily rimmed, worn-in eyes. At Givenchy, Pat McGrath crafted a strong, matte lip with a gray-brown shade that was echoed on models eyelids. "It's gothic, very precious but twisted. It's the new goth," said Tom Pecheux at Badgley Mischka, where he captured pale, matte skin with a touch of gold under the eyes to catch the light. Bobs are hot on recent runway. The look is really taking off for F/W 12. The hairstyle was seen at labels as Rodarte, Givenchy and Oscar de La Renta. Style range from undone bobs, Sisties-style bouffants to forthy, achieved with pinned-under hair, flat braids at nape, or tresses tucked into high collars. | ArchivesE Mailblackwhitetaffy@gmail.com |
